The Spiral is Tightening

Dear old Terence. Another being taken from us far too early. He was a little bit revolutionary at heart, always warning against the "dominator culture" in a way that Leary never did.

It could be argued that "Turn on, tune in, drop out" was, in part, responsible for the sudden death of radical of politics in the 60s and 70s.

"Turn on, tune in, drop out and get organised" would have been a different matter entirely.

Videos of Mckenna on (aside from DMT, cannabis, salvia, ayahuasca and peyote, among others) how:

- "Capitalism is as anti-human a philosophy as you can possibly conceive"

- "Culture is not your friend"

Who needs LSD anyway when you can experience exactly the same effect listening to 10 minutes of McKenna?

And he sounds a bit like a duck too, which is always a bonus.

Terence Mckenna: Reclaim Your Mind

"You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron, consuming all this trash that's being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world. Where is that at?"

A prophecy is made that a baby is to be born who will change the world. He is born and a star appears to announce his birth. When the king of this world hears about the birth he tries to have the baby killed, but fails. The child grows up in wisdom and in stature, and in favour with God and man. He performs miracles at a young age, but as he grows older he knows he will have to defeat his arch-enemy: Satan. Our hero prepares to sacrifice himself for the world, and so he surrenders himself, undefended, to face certain death. He is killed, and goes into an underworld, where he can choose to 'go on' or come back. He comes back victorious, as a Master of Death, i.e. eternal life, to liberate the world of evil.

We all know that story - that's the story of Jesus. But it's also the story of Harry Potter.

all plot similarities (less the skin colour change of the hero) between Harry Potter and A Wizard of Earthsea are, of course, entirely coincidental

Proof of extremist grooming in London town. I don't know which is worse, this or homeopathy.

Unbelievably, Twisted Sister are still bloody well at it! Frontman Dee Snider must be at least a few years into his 50s by now.
